First design sketches of a new high performance car were made in January 1999 and. The pictures below show the original concept.

Development work started during April 1999 when a quarter-scale model in clay was produced, followed by a further quarter-scale GRP model. McFarlanes were then commissioned to produce a full size aluminium outer skin for the car prior to styling development work in GRP.

The visual appearance with the enhanced curvaceous body and smooth flowing lines gives the Lightning a classic and artistic design. The connoisseurs of art will readily appreciate the elegant and fine form. The style and also the size of the Lightning is the reason behind the car's presence on the road.

The Lightning is a high quality sports car for the driver who wishes to have PERFORMANCE, POWER and also PRESENCE on the road.
